Day 1: Welcome to Nairobi, Kenya’s Bustling Capital
Once you arrive at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), you’ll be warmly received by HTT Operations Manager, who will give you a short brief of your safari. You will then be transferred by private vehicle to Movenpick Hotel located in the heart of Westlands, Nairobi's commercial, retail and entertainment suburb about 20 kilometers from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Depending on when you arrive, you may have time to explore the city and its attractions.
Day 2: Panoramic Views of Mount Kilimanjaro at Amboseli
Today start your safari experience to the majestic Amboseli National Park. The short flight to Amboseli is mesmerizing. We’ll fly over the Athi plains, catching a glimpse of the sweeping vistas of the spell binding scenic hills and as we approach, be welcomed by the snowy peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. Your stay will be at the marvellous Ol Tukai Lodge, which is the perfect base to explore the attractions of Amboseli. Venture out on evening game drives. This is the ideal time to catch the wildlife that are coming out of their hideouts as there is less heat.
Day 3: Explore the Wonders of Amboseli National Park
Be woken up by the sounds of chirping birds. You can opt for an early morning coffee/tea. You’ll depart for a full day game drive with a delicious picnic lunch to enjoy in the middle of the bush. Alternatively, you can go for a morning game drive and return to the lodge for breakfast. After lunch, you can relax before going for an evening game drive. Overnight: Ol Tukai
Day 4: Stay at the Iconic Elsa Kopje at Meru National Park
Unashamedly romantic and beautifully styled, Elsa’s Kopje is sculpted into Mughwango Hill, above the site of George Adamson’s original camp where he raised and released orphan lions, long before conservation became fashionable. Each cottage is crafted around the rocks, with a large bedroom, open sitting room, veranda and spacious bathroom, each with breathtaking views.
Day 5: Enjoy the Whole Day in Meru National Park
Meru National Park is wild and beautiful. It is an especially beautiful area of Kenya with diverse scenery from woodlands at 2,000ft 600m on the slopes of the Nyambeni Mountain Range north east of Mt Kenya to wide open plains with meandering riverbanks dotted with doum palms. The Park is most famous for the Joy Adamson's autobiography "Born Free" a film has since been produced based on the same book about her research and life with lions and cheetahs.
Day 6: Maasai Mara Game Reserve, 8th Wonder of the World.
Today, we'll depart the beautiful Elsa Kopje in Meru for the equally elegant Sanctuary Olonana in Maasai Mara Game Reserve, the 8th Wonder of the World and home of the wildebeest migration. Featuring 14 glass-sided suites, Sanctuary Olonana is inspired by the Maasai Mara’s breath-taking natural wonders, an abundance of wildlife, and a dramatic river which runs right past its forest setting. Game drives, cultural visits, bush dinners, sundowners, scenic flights and balloon rides at Olonana makes for a wonderful African safari.
Day 7/8: Enjoy Captivating 2 Days in the Maasai Mara
Spend 2 exciting days in the Maasai Mara. On each day, wake up for a refreshing hot cup of coffee or tea. Then depart for a morning game drive to explore the Mara plains and its intriguing wildlife. You can also opt to hop on a hot air balloon, which is a truly fun and exciting way to see Africa's landscapes and wildlife.
Day 9: from Maasai Mara to Nairobi and Onward
This is your last day of safari. You'll wake up for a buffet breakfast. After check out, be driven to the Mara airstrip and as you fly above the plains say goodbye to the sights and sounds of the Mara Plains below as you hold on to the memories of the last few days and mentally plan for your return.
