Tour Description

1

Day 1: Welcome to Nairobi, Kenya’s Bustling Capital

Once you arrive at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), you’ll be warmly received by HTT Operations Manager, who will give you a short brief of your safari. You will then be transferred by private vehicle to Movenpick Hotel located in the heart of Westlands, Nairobi's commercial, retail and entertainment suburb about 20 kilometers from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Day 2: from Nairobi to the Iconic Maasai Mara

Wake up for a buffet breakfast at Movenpick, then after check out, you’ll depart for the ever inviting Maasai Mara.

Your morning drive will see you pass through the scenic Great Rift Valley Escarpment. You’ll make a brief stopover where you can refresh yourself, soak in the sweeping views below and capture in the moments with awesome photo shots before continuing the journey and arriving at the lodge just in time for lunch.

In the evening, you’ll go for your first game drive and explore the beautiful and scenic Maasai Mara. Evening game drives are recommended as the sun is not hot and wildlife will be coming out of their hideouts.

Day 3/4: Enjoy the Sweeping Plains & Wildlife of the Maasai Mara

Wake up to another delightful morning in the bush. Depart for a morning game drive. This is the best time to catch the animals as the sun is not ye hot, which increases the chance of the animals to be out in the open plains.

Note: You can opt for a Hot Air Balloon Safari instead of a morning game drive. This is truly a fun and exciting way to see Africa’s landscapes and wildlife. Morning spent at leisure. Enjoy buffet lunch at the camp and later you can spend your afternoon on your own leisure.

You can soak in the beauty of the Mara Plains as you relax at the swimming pool. You can also visit a traditional Maasai Village to learn a thing or two about the local culture.

Day 5: Depart Maasai Mara for the Serengeti

This is your last day of safari in the Maasai Mara. After a buffet breakfast at the lodge and check out, we’ll depart with picnic lunch boxes towards the Tanzanian border, Isebania.

You’ll reach the border at approx. 1100 hours. You’ll be picked and transferred towards Serengeti Sopa Lodge with en-route game drive in the park. Upon arrival after lunch check in and relax. Overnight at the lodge in Serengeti.

Day 6: Exciting Game Drives in the Serengeti

Wake up to a sumptuous breakfast at the lodge. Later you’ll enjoy an exciting morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti National Park. The park is undoubtedly the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world, unequalled for its natural beauty and the greatest concentration of plains game anywhere.

The varied topography and seasons creates a hugely diverse range of landscapes and changing wildlife habitats. Millions of migratory wildebeest, zebra and antelope roam the plains together with their attendant predators such as lion, cheetah, hyena and jackal. Overnight at the lodge in Serengeti.

Day 7: from the Exotic Serengeti to the Panoramic Ngorongoro

With picnic lunches, after breakfast, we’ll drive into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area via Olduvai Gorge and descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a half day tour.

The Crater is a world heritage site that is a haven for a variety of wildlife. Ngorongoro is the remnant of a volcano that blew apart, leaving a flat plain area ringed with steep walls, which now has a large soda lake, fresh springs and sheltering forests.

There is a large concentration of animals in the Crater and sightings of the “Big Five” – Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino and Leopard – are almost guaranteed. The structure of the Crater and the wildlife makes for a great African wildlife experience. Ascend after game drive and transfer back to the lodge. Overnight at the lodge in Ngorongoro.

Day 8: Ngorongoro to Arusha & Onwards

Wake up to an early breakfast at the lodge. Afterwards, you’ll be transferred to the lodge for check out and later transferred to Arusha where we’ll have a brief stopover at a local restaurant for lunch. Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, connect with your departure flight back home; returning home full of wonderful memories and experiences.
