Day 1: Kampala - Murchison Falls National Park
Our safari representative will meet and greet you at 0630hrs at your hotel in Kampala. This will be followed by departure driving through the historical Luwero triangle to Murchison Falls. You will proceed to the park and embark on a forest walk in Pabidi Forest in search of chimpanzees.
Other primates resident in this forest include l’hoestes, red colobus, blues, red tailed monkeys and grey cheeked mangabeys. The guide will provide detailed explanations, not only about primates, but also on all the forest flora and fauna and will ensure that your walk is both informative and enjoyable.
This walk is excellent for bird watching and for seeing primates at close quarters. Drive to your chosen accommodation for check in and early dinner. Depart for night game drive at 1800hrs. You will be looking forward to see the nocturnal wildlife that includes the hyenas, leopards, hippos, genets, porcupines, civets, numerous reptiles, bush babies and night jars among other wildlife. Return back to your preferred accommodation for overnight. (Transit time: 5 hr.)
Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park
Start your day with an early breakfast before heading to the northern banks of the Nile River. On the early morning game drive, you may see Elephant, Lion, Buffalo, Giraffe, Hartebeests and many more. In the afternoon, proceed for a boat trip on the placid Victoria Nile, upstream, to the base of the fall.
En route you will see hippos, crocodiles, water buck and a wide variety of birds like the unusual shoebill stork. The boat stops just tens of meters from the "Devil’s Cauldron". Take pictures of the photogenic and majestic Murchison Falls. Disembark from the boat and take a hike to the top of the fall where you can see the Nile's beauty perfected!
Marvel at the Nile, compressing from 50 meters to squeeze through a 6-metre canyon dropping 40 meters with a thunderous roar creating a beautiful rainbow, a plume of spray and the best thing that happened to the Nile..."the Murchison Falls".
Return to your lodge in time for dinner and overnight at your chosen accommodation.
Day 3: Paraa - Chobe
You will wake up to your breakfast before you embark on the delta boat cruise. This is another interesting but more placid activity is the boat trip through the extensive papyrus delta through which the Victoria Nile flows into Lake Albert.
Here again there are plenty of animals and birds to see with an excellent chance of seeing the rare shoebill. This trip takes four to five hours, thereafter transfer to Chobe Safari Lodge with a game drive en route. (Approximate transit time: 2 hr.)
Day 4: Chobe – Kampala
You will have a morning game walk getting you off the safari vehicle to stretch your legs. You will not only be looking for big games but birds will also be in your menu today. Be on the lookout for Shoebill stalk, Martial Eagle, the African Fish Eagle, Papyrus Gonolek, Lesser and Greater Flamingo, White-tailed Lark and Verraux's Eagle Owl. You will depart and proceed to the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary.
It is the only place that you can see rhinos in Uganda. Presently the sanctuary is home to 15 southern white rhinos. The sanctuary has become increasingly popular with guests for rhino trekking, bird watching, nature walks and relaxation. Proceed to Kampala with drop-off at your hotel in Kampala.
